Protected against vertically falling water drops when enclosure is tilted up to 15°
Water drops falling vertically must not have any adverse operational effects when the headlamp is tilted up to 15°.

Protected against spraying water
Water sprayed at angles of up 60° to the headlamp must not have any adverse operational effects.
IP X4
Protected against splashing water
Water splashed on the headlamp must not have any adverse operational effects.
IP X5
Protected against water jets
Water jet sprayed from all directions on the headlamp must not have any adverse operational effects.
IP X6
Protected against powerful water jets
Water sprayed though powerful jets from all directions must not have any adverse operational effects on the headlamp.
IP X7
Protected against the effects of temporary immersion in water
Under specific conditions of pressure and duration, water must not enter a temporarily submerged headlamp in quantities that would cause adverse operational effects.
IP X8
Protected against the effects of continued immersion in water
Water must not enter a headlamp submerged for a prolonged period of time in quantities that would cause adverse operational effects under conditions agreed to by the manufacturer and the user, but are more stringent than the conditions laid out in IP X7.
